Kaoru Tanaka

General Manager of Corporate IT & Executive Officer, Rakuten

General Manager of Corporate IT in Rakuten, and is responsible for managing corporate IT (Office Network, IT Facility, software) as collaboration and communication platform in global Rakuten, and also Corporate Management Information System for HR, Finance System and others from June 2016.

Kaoru joined Rakuten in 2001 as employee #256, and experienced head of product development team for Rakuten Ichiba, Rakuten Travel, Rakuten Gora, Rakuten Beauty etc. until 2013. In 2013 to 2016, took leadership of EU e-commerce tech team as CPO of Rakuten Europe.

Kaoru holds a bachelor’s degree in physics from the Yokohama National University, and graduated Stanford Executive Program in 2017.
