Mickey (Hiroshi) Mikitani is the founder, chairman
and CEO of Rakuten Group, Inc. Founded in Japan in 1997 with the mission to

Mikitani is also a recipient of the Legion of Honour, awarded by the French
government in recognition of contributions to the economy and culture of
France. In 2011, he was appointed Chairman of the Tokyo Philharmonic
Orchestra, which has the longest history and tradition of any orchestra in
Japan, and serves as Representative Director of the Japan Association of New
Economy (JANE).
He also serves as Vice Chairman and Co-CEO of Rakuten Medical, Inc. (formerly
Aspyrian Therapeutics, Inc.), a global biotechnology company developing
precision, cell-targeting investigational therapies on its Alluminox™
platform.
Within the Google Cloud AI and Industry Solutions
organization, Erwan and his team manage all
outbound aspects of product management for our portfolio of (Gen)AI products
and solutions
which include Vertex AI, Gen App Builder, Document AI, Contact Center A and
Healthcare AI.
They are also orchestrating the product group support to top customer and
partner accounts,
which is referenced as Customer Activation.
Erwan joined Google in 2019 via the acquisition of Elastifile, a
software-defined storage leader,
where he served as CEO. Elastifile is the technology engine propelling the

Filestore product line. Prior to his current role with Cloud AI, Erwan was one

built Google Cloud Solution Engineering, the group who developed Google’s

Earlier in his career, Erwan served as President & COO at various startups,
which he scaled on

Erwan graduated from Telecom Sud Paris, a French engineering school. He lives
in the San
Francisco Bay Area, and together with his three children they form a team of
avid sailors. Erwan
has sailed across the Pacific Ocean three times and is very versed in ocean
environmental
issues.
Sean Varley is the Chief Evangelist and leader of
ecosystem development and partner programs at Ampere Computing. His group is
responsible for go to market, messaging, strategy and execution of developer
and partner ecosystem growth programs.

Scott Jarkoff is a Senior Threat Intelligence
Advisor at CrowdStrike. Reporting to Kent Rounds, Vice President Global Threat
Intel & Government Sales, Scott’s focus is to help customers operationalize
and integrate threat intelligence within their organization’s security
strategy, demonstrating the value of CrowdStrike threat intelligence. Scott is
based in Tokyo and covers APJ. He has over twenty years defense-grade cyber
security and intelligence experience, serving on a global team entrusted with
empowering sales of CrowdStrike threat intelligence.
Prior to joining CrowdStrike, Scott worked at McAfee in Tokyo, Japan as a
Senior Security Advisor focusing on evangelizing defense-grade cyber security
solutions, with a strong emphasis on the Japanese government and critical
infrastructure sectors. He also directed and led the introduction of McAfee
threat intelligence services in the Japanese market.
Scott regularly presents at events in Japan and internationally and is
frequently interviewed by Japanese media on cyber security news topics.
Before joining McAfee, Scott worked for the US government for over twenty
years, the most recent as the Chief of Cyber Security at United States Forces
Japan. At USFJ he was responsible for overseeing DoD cyber security strategy
and cyber situational awareness for the U.S. military components in Japan.
Scott leveraged DoD intelligence capabilities to develop U.S. and Japan
cross-government cyber security strategy, managing the USFJ cyber security
program, and commanding the USFJ security incident response team.

Yasufumi Hirai is Group Executive Vice President, Chief of Staff to the CEO of global internet services company Rakuten Group, Inc. In his current role, since September 2023, he is responsible for overseeing and driving strategic business initiatives and international projects for the CEO, Mickey Mikitani. Prior to his current role, he was the Global CIO & CISO, managing group-wide IT infrastructure and information security governance across the group and overseeing the evolution of Rakuten ecosystem services platforms. Ting Cai is the Chief Data Officer at Rakuten, where he leads the company’s AI and data strategy. Before joining Rakuten, Ting served as a Senior Director at Google, where he led Local Search product strategy and development. Ting spent many years in senior leadership positions at Microsoft, including General Manager for the News & Feeds team and General Manager for the Bing & Speech team in Search Technology Center Asia. He holds a master’s degree in computer science from Dartmouth College and an MBA from the University of Washington.
After graduating from Kansai University, Kurozumi started his business career at Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT) in 1997 where he spent 4 years. He joined Rakuten, Inc. (now Rakuten Group, Inc.) in 2002, primarily working in the Development Division. He was appointed as Executive Officer in 2008, and in 2013 moved to the USA to take on the role of Vice President of the Americas Development Unit at Rakuten USA, Inc. After returning to Japan, Kurozumi was appointed Senior Executive Officer in 2019 and Group Senior Managing Executive Officer in 2022 (current position). Kurozumi has been leading the technology organization in the Commerce & Marketing Company for many years. In May 2023, he was appointed as CIO, and in September of the same year, he was appointed as CTO of Rakuten Group, Inc. where he is responsible for the technology that supports the Rakuten Ecosystem.
Sharad Sriwastawa is an industry leader in
telecommunications innovation. In August 2023, Sriwastawa was appointed as
Co-Chief Executive Officer of Rakuten Mobile and Acting President of Rakuten
Symphony, a Rakuten Mobile Group company spearheading the global adoption of
cloud-native Open Radio Access Network infrastructure and services. His
stewardship is central to the development and operations of Rakuten Mobile’s
fully virtualized, cloud-native mobile network based on Open RAN architecture.
After joining Rakuten Mobile in September 2018, Sriwastawa served as the Head
of Connectivity Platforms, where he was the driving force behind constructing
and industrializing cloud-native RAN, highlighting his unwavering commitment
to openness and revolutionizing the telecommunications sector. Sriwastawa took
on the role of Chief Technology Officer in March 2022, and in April 2022 was
appointed as Group Managing Executive Officer of Rakuten Group, Inc.
With a rich career spanning nearly three decades, Sriwastawa has been a
transformative figure across continents. Before his tenure at Rakuten, he held
positions such as Vice President of Airspan Networks, National Head of 3G at
Reliance Communications, and Northeast Regional Manager for T-Mobile USA.
His career genesis at Siemens Public Communications Network in 1995 involved a
contribution to building India’s first mobile network, showcasing his
proclivity for innovation from the onset.
After graduating from university, he worked at a Software Company since 2001, then joined Rakuten in 2005 as a web application engineer. He has been engaged in product management and engineering of internet service for 18 years. He was appointed as an Executive Officer in 2018, then as a Senior Executive Officer in 2022. Since 2019, as a Chief Data Officer of Commerce & Marketing Company, he has been managing data related projects and operations regarding entire Commerce & Marketing Company as well as Rakuten Ichiba. Now he is leading the company's Technology Supervisory Department as a Vice Director and mainly managing Rakuten Ichiba Tech.
After researching and developing security products with a startup internet security company, Yoshinari Fukumoto joined Rakuten in 2002. Fukumoto is responsible for Rakuten Group's cyber security. He is mainly in charge of promoting secure software development and security operations. Fukumoto led the establishment of Rakuten-CERT in 2007 and is the Rakuten-CERT Representative. From the beginning of the activity, he has been serving on the OWASP Japan Advisory Board. Fukumoto is also a visiting professor at the Tokyo Institute of Technology. In recent years, he is also focusing on measures against cybercrimes.
Over the past 20+ years, Rohit has been in
hands-on
leadership roles that primarily focused on building new products or
transforming
existing services to help them scale. His journey has taken him across domains
as
diverse as eCommerce, social gaming, consumer video, network security, and
VoIP.
Rohit joined Rakuten in 2013 through the acquisition of Viki. He currently
serves
as the Division CTO of Technology Platforms and an Executive Officer of
Rakuten
Group.
Kenji Zaitsu is the General Manager and Global Privacy Manager of the Information Security & Privacy Governance Department of Rakuten Group, Inc. He also works for Rakuten Mobile, Inc. as a Division Manager of the Information Security Promotion Division. Zaitsu has more than 30 years of experience in the telecom and IT industries. After working as a system engineer at NEC Engineering and Motorola, he took up SE manager roles at Cisco Systems. In 2016, he joined Rakuten and started working in the IT Governance Department. In December 2017, he took up the position of General Manager in the Information Security & Privacy Governance Department. Zaitsu holds certification as a Registered Security Specialist, AWS Security Specialty, Associate Google Cloud Engineer, and Senior Japan Privacy Protection Certification.
After working as an architect, project manager, and security/internal control consultant for large-scale enterprise systems at a major system integrator in Japan, he led the Business Promotion and Technology Development Team using AWS. In 2014, he joined AWS Japan and was the first solution architect for the financial industry in the country. In 2015, he became the General Manager of the Enterprise Solution Architect team. From 2019, as General Manager of the Specialist Solutions Architect team, he supported the transformation of companies through large-scale migrations and modernization. From 2021, he has been supporting innovation with a focus on Japanese government and public customers. As a METI (Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry) Advisor Committee Member on the Management Criteria Working Group, related to the Security Evaluation of Cloud Services, he was involved in the development of management criteria for ISMAP (The Information System Security Management and Assessment Program).
Shinji has been leading to start up Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) business for Japan market from the beginning, since 2016. He joined Oracle Corporation Japan in 2000. He had mainly worked for starting new technology business and solutions for Oracle like Content Management/Distribution, Embedded Solution for Industrial Device, Internet of Things, and Cloud, as multiple roles (engineering, sales and business development) across the industries. He has been the head of Cloud Business Unit since 2021.
Ken currently leads the Data & AI and Application Innovation business at Microsoft. His journey commenced at Microsoft in 2010, marked by impactful achievements. He played a pivotal role in establishing Microsoft's Japanese cloud data center, showcasing a commitment to the company's expansion. His innovative spirit shone through as he pioneered the IoT Co-Creation Lab, fostering collaboration and innovation in the Internet of Things. As a marketer, he is known for introducing advanced AI and machine learning services, simplifying application development with LowCode, and skillfully managing ERP and CRM applications. His expertise has been vital in driving technological growth and cloud-related initiatives, with a strong emphasis on Data & AI. He holds an M.B.A. and an M.A. in Educational Technology.
Hironori Yoshida started his career as a system administrator at Linux, after graduating from Kyoto University with a major in Science. He engaged in enhancements of supercomputer systems, on-premise servers and network systems at the National Institute for Environmental Studies. He joined Rakuten Group, Inc. back in April 2008 and managed the Application Engineer Development team in the System Development Department for Rakuten GORA and Rakuten International EC services. From April 2016, he managed Ichiba’s Infrastructure Team as a Senior Manager. In September 2021, he was assigned as a Director for Data Centers & Cloud Infrastructure.
Seiji Hirosawa is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Sport and Health Sciences at Toin University of Yokohama and is pursuing a PH.D in engineering under the supervision of Prof. Yoshimitsu Aoki at Keio University. His research focuses on figure skating performance evaluation, which he has competed in.In addition, he is a board member of the Japan Sports Analyst Association. He has practical and research expertise in sports and data science, including work at ASICS corporation and the Japan Institute of Sports Sciences before his current position.
Mitsuru Nakazawa is an assistant manager at Rakuten Institute of Technology Tokyo, Rakuten Group, Inc. Under the supervision of Prof. Yoshimitsu Aoki, he received a PH.D degree in Engineering from Keio University in 2011. From 2008 to 2011, he was a JSPS Research Fellow for Young Scientists (DC1). From 2011 to 2015, he was a post-doctoral researcher at Osaka University. His research interests lie in image and video understanding for business process automation.

Johanes Effendi is a Research Scientist at the Rakuten Institute of Technology, Singapore. He earned his PH.D in the spoken language processing from the Nara Institute of Science and Technology (NAIST), Japan. He is concurrently in charge of CIO/CISO for Rakuten Insurance Holdings and Rakuten Life Insurance, leading entire technology team for the Rakuten insurance business. She has since extended her expertise to include threat intelligence, incident response, and investigations, all aimed at safeguarding Rakuten ecosystem. ChiaWei earned her Master of Engineering degree at The University of Tokyo and gained valuable experience at Boston Consulting Group. Her research has been published in prominent cyber security conferences, including RSA Conference 365, CODE BLUE, and HITCON, highlighting her substantial contributions to the field.
Sorn has been working in Fraud Prevention in Rakuten for past 8 years. He involves in most fraud investigation and countermeasure that occured on Rakuten ecosystem and also participated in design and development of multiple anti-fraud system Rakuten currently offered.
Harish Jothimani is responsible to deliver Fraud prevention solutions across all Rakuten services. Prior to this role, he led team in building a B2B platform in Rakuten. Before joining Rakuten he used to work for General Electric for 13 years and held various leadership roles in managing technologies across credit cards, consumer finance and GE digital businesses. He has degree in Master of business.
After graduating from Chuo Gakuin University Kawamoto-san worked as a cellular phone salesperson. Later he established Makura Co., Ltd., a company that specializes in pillows. In this company he engaged in planning, development and sales. In 2004, he opened and started managing Pillow and Sleep Good Night Shop! in Rakuten Ichiba. In 2023, the company launched THE PILLOW - custom-made pillows, made by using AI suggestions for the optimal pillow, from 700,000 different ways. Kawamoto-san has been working on the DX of pillow selection.
Hono-san is supporting the delivery of business results using AI and data, as well as establishing technical composition using Google Cloud solutions. He promotes the usage of AI and Data, through technology ecosystems.
